ORLANDO, Fla. – For the first time since the theme parks reopened last summer, Disney World will have indoor character meet-and-greets starting next month.
What You Need To Know
- Character meet-and-greets returning to Disney World in November
- The character interactions will be socially-distanced and no hugs or autographs
- Disney is also bringing back more live entertainment including the Indiana Jones stunt show in December
The character interactions will be socially-distanced, however, meaning no hugs or autographs.
“Although the environment is not right for hugs and autographs, you’ll soon be able to have individualized time with some of your favorite characters, getting to visit with them in a themed locations and snap a photo or two,” Disney said Tuesday in a post on its official parks blog.
At Magic Kingdom, visitors will be able to meet the Disney Princesses at Princess Fairytale Hall and Mickey Mouse at Town Square Theater. Mickey will be wearing his EARidescent 50th anniversary outfit.
Other character interactions will be available at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, with visitors getting a chance to meet Minnie Mouse at Red Carpet Dreams at the Disney Junior stars in Animation Courtyard.
Disney has not shared an exact start date for the meet-and-greets.
Instead of traditional meet-and-greets, Disney has featured its characters in cavalcades. In Tuesday’s blog post, Disney said many of those experiences will continue.
Disney also announced the return of more live entertainment, including the nighttime projection show “Disney Movie Magic” on Nov. 7 and “Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular” on Dec. 19.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom will once again have live music, with the return of Chakranadi and Kora Tinga Tinga next week. The Tam Tam Drummers will be back in the Africa section of the park in early November.
Some entertainment returned last week as Disney World kicked off its 50th anniversary celebration. At Epcot, the Alberta Bound are once again performing at the Canada pavilion, the Taiko drummers are back at the Japan pavilion, and Sergio has returned to the Italy pavilion.
Disney said it will share more details about other entertainment “very soon.”
